Training

WSBRC can provide a range of training and support to organisations, recording groups and the wider public. The services may be provided as part of a Service Level Agreement or on an ad hoc basis at an agreed cost to organisations or groups. When we have the available resources we will also provide free or low-cost training to individual biological recorders to support their recording and data submission.

Examples of subjects for which we can deliver courses or other training support:

Data management

WSBRC have many years of experience of data management using a variety of systems and can help you find the right solution for your needs, supporting you in managing your data more efficiently and effectively.

Living record online recording system

We have run a number of Living Record courses for a range of audiences, from a beginner’s course to get people started, right through to training for expert verifiers. Let us know if you’d like to be added to our list for the next available course.

MapInfo GIS basic & intermediate

We can deliver MapInfo Basic through to intermediate training courses which can be tailored to your needs.

Phase 1 habitat survey

Over the past couple years numerous volunteers have attended Phase 1 habitat survey training courses, predominantly designed for our Map the Gap project volunteers. The courses are designed to give trainees a grounding in carrying out a phase 1 habitat survey and are aimed at individuals who can volunteer some of their time to support us in surveying/monitoring sites in Wiltshire.
